I should love you for the way you give me your cover,
and, let me complain about my mother,
and I do.

I should love you for the time you leave over
to take me in your Rover,
and I do.

I should be there when you labor,
or, when you help the neighbor
and I hope I was.

I should never start to squander
all the way out yonder
the money that twas
ours.

You could always turn the blade
that was inside the masquerade
of me
and let me see.

You always knew
I should love you
so you drew the water.
That was no bother.

You promised to always be the sculptor
who would help me in my character
if I would be with you
as not a coward --

but -- as a friend
until this ends,
and, then begin again
where time never ends.
